West Ham United are yet to beat Wolverhampton Wanderers under the stewardship of Nuno Espírito Santo and they will be hoping that particular statistic will change, as the Hammers host the side from the Black Country in today's late kick-off.

The Irons made sure of their place in the Carabao Cup fourth round on Tuesday night, as they beat Sky Bet League One outfit Hull City to set up a fourth round meeting away at fellow Premier League club Everton on Wednesday night with kick-off at 7:45pm.

The Hammers spent the week outside of the bottom three after Sheffield United lost to Aston Villa on Monday but they are back in the danger zone heading into this encounter following Saturday's results.

Wolves last arrived in East London as recently as June 20 for the first game back after top-flight action was forced to take a break, due to the Coronavirus outbreak. On that day, they achieved a 2-0 win.

Although the visitors only played on Monday night, they will actually be the fresher of the two sides, given that the hosts were in action a day later.

Alan Irvine took charge of the team five days ago and he will do so again, as manager David Moyes continues to self isolate.

With Issa Diop out of this game, either Arthur Masuaku or Fabián Balbuena will come into central defence to partner Angelo Ogbonna. Having said that, if Irvine decides to change formation, then Declan Rice could always take that position, meaning either Robert Snodgrass or Andriy Yarmolenko will be able to slot into midfield.

Captain Mark Noble has returned to training after missing the game against Arsenal eight days ago with an injured toe and could be back in the starting line-up. Sébastien Haller is in contention and will be pushing for a start alongside Michail Antonio after the Frenchman twice netted against the Tigers.

The match kicks off at 7pm with live coverage being screened by BT Sport from 6:30pm. The referee is Martin Atkinson.
