McMenamin,Hinds and Beevers all played 90 mins on the tricky astroturf pitch with the rest of the players getting 45-65 . The KO is delayed for 15 mins to allow  the impressive turn out of Owls fans time to get in the ground. A slimline Leon Clarke was just beaten by the goalkeeper to a cross from ....

Leicester City V Owls

When I'm at a game like THAT one, it's all I can remember to do to breath. Occasionally!Seriously, at times during the second half today I was noticing small palpitations, irregular flutters, (no - not at William Hills), etc. Not good. Then we scored, and I never noticed anything again! Stood up all through and bouncing at even the slightest hint of it, (54 and with arthritis - who cares on days like that?), we were glad of a sit down and rest at half time. I said to Mr. Angry that I felt like ....

Match Report - Wednesday V Palace

Crystal Palace arrived at a cold, windy Hillsborough today with hopes of continuing their play off push, while Wednesday were looking to put one over Sadman Neil Warnock and climb out of the relegation zone.   The game started brightly with both sides hitting the woodwork in the opening 10 minutes, Morrison striking the bar for Palace before Grant collected the rebound from Scowcroft, and McAllister hitting the post at the kop end following decent work from Songo’o..   The ....

Match Report - Sheffield Wednesday V Qpr

Sheffield Wednesday earned a vital victory against QPR thanks to goals from Kavagnah and Burton, the latter coming from the penalty spot. Unfortunately I missed the first 15 minutes and QPR taking the lead through Delaney after he was played in by Vine, due to a misunderstanding with the Malin Bridge tram. I’m told Wednesday had a couple of chances prior to the goal, but were unable to capitalise.  QPR dominated the next 20 minutes, With Blackstock shooting ....

Owls V West Brom Match Report..

Wednesday went into the game high on confidence after the three consecutive clean sheets, but the fans were to go home angry at the winner by Kevin Phillips in the 95th minute. Tommy Spurr replaced Peter Gilbert at left back and Jermaine Johnson returned after suspension to replace the injured Wade Small. The game started brightly enough with both sides trying to boss the midfield, but the West Brom side looked dangerous on the counter. Chris Brunt was receiving a fair amount of stick ....

Wednesday Defeat The Old Foes In Style.

Wednesday welcomed their neighbours to Hillsborough hoping to banish any lingering memories of the last time United visited, and how they did it. Goals from fit again Akpo Sodje and Marcus Tudgay sealed the point and the bragging rights for the Owls. Wednesday made changes to the side that lost to Cardiff City last weekend with Sodje, Wallwork and Johnson coming in for Clarke, Watson and Esajas respectively. It was a bright start from the home side who certainly were not daunted by the ....

Wednesday Bring In The New Year With Victory

Just one change from the side that lost to Hull last weekend brought a turnaround in fortunes for Brian Laws' men. Jermaine Johnson came in for Marcus Tudgay in the starting 11. Goals from Akpo Sodje and Francis Jeffers gave the Owls the  points, despite Preston opening the scoring with Hawley. Wednesday kicked off towards the kop and in top gear, well, at least for the first ten minutes! Jermaine Johnson was using his pace to create a threat but then his final ball was a let down. ....

Wednesday Lose Out At The Kc

Wednesday were beaten at the KC Stadium by a solitary strike from former Owl Dean Windass in the 29th minute. It was a fantastic strike worthy of winning any game, but why couldn't it be for us rather than against? This seems to be the way with us at the moment, we are hardworking but inactive in the goals department. Only three goals in the whole of December are testament to this. With Sodje back hopes were high heading into the game, indeed if he wasn't ring rusty after his recent layoff ....
