1st Half

Forest win an attacking free kick in the first minute, the ball is whipped into the area but to no avail. It`s a crisp cool night at Hillsborough and both sets of fans are making themselves heard.Free kick to Wednesday 10 yards from the box, is headed away for a corner, which is dealt with by the Reds defence.Marcus Tudgay strikes from 35 yards hoping to catch the keeper off guard but it`s well wide.Tudgay goes on a great run before being held back just outside the penalty area, D`Urso amazingly, waves `play on`.

Nathan Tyson has made an impressive start to the game but he`s evenly matched by Richard Wood. Corner to Wednesday is headed high over the bar by Burton. The Owls are struggling to find their attacking form so far while Forest do look dangerous on the break , especially with Nathan Tyson.Another corner to Wednesday tho  inspired by McMahon, again it`s cleared by the Forest defence.A good spell of pressure from Forest comes to nothing, there`s a lot of good passing from both sides but no end product so far.Good ball across the 6 yard box from Wade Small is cleared away for another corner, again it`s cleared away by the Reds.Mc Mahon delivers a great ball into the area and a free header by Deon Burton is headed wide from 8 yards. Good run forward from Gilbert but his delivery into the box is too high for Wade Small.

Half Time...Wednesday 0 Forest 0

There`s been plenty of pretty passing by both sides but it`s a game lacking in goal attempts despite Wednesday`s impressive corner count. The Owls however, did seem to come into the match stronger in the last6/7 mins of this half, it could be a sign of better things to come.

2nd Half..

Wednesday are attacking the Kop in the 2nd Half with no changes made by either side.Free kick to Forest on the edge of the penalty area after a late tackle by Tommy Spurr is drilled in low, well saved by Lee Grant. Etienne Essajas fires the ball from 20 yards and it`s deflected into the Forest net ..Wednesday1 Forest 0 Good attacking play by Wednesday and a decent ball into the box by Wade Small is just too heavy for Burton.Tyson shoots on the run but it`s well covered by Grant.Cohen chips a ball into the box and it`s headed towards goal by Joal Lynch is brilliantly saved by Lee Grant, seconds later from the corner he saves brilliantly again from Andy Cole, 6 yards out, the corner from that one is  caught by our Keeper to rapterous applause from the home stands...which he acknowledges.

Richard Wood comes off for Mark Beevers, slightly surprising as he seems to have the match of the dangerous Nathan Tyson. Lee Martin and  McCleary come on for Forest. It`s been a great 2nd half, real end to end stuff. 2 corners in a minute to the Owls ends up with McAllister being flattened , free kick to the Owls in a great position is eventualy cleared by Forest.Good play by Martin results in a corner to The Reds is cleared over the net by MacAllister, Frannie Jeffers comes on for Wade Small.Good play by Tudgay, rolls it in for O`Connor who hits a fine shot and it`s a fine save by Paul Smith.

Great skill by Frannie Jeffers and he flicks it on for Deon Burton who shoots well from 15 yards but it`s well saved again by Paul Smith.Jeffers hit`s a swirlin shot from 20 yards , just wide.Guy Moussi comes on for Joel Lynch in an attacking move from Forest Manager Colin Calderwood. A good shot from Andy Cole is well saved by the fingertips of Lee Grant.A bit of a mix up in the Owls defence allows Andy Cole in but he shoots wide from under pressure. Corner to Forest 90 seconds left of injury goes for another corner ..which is badly taken.

Full Time ..Wednesday 1 Forest 0...att..20,823

A superb 2nd half with good attacking play from both sides,  it would  have seen a high scoring match if it wasn`t for the pedigree of both keepers who played a blinder, Forest played well and they will feel unfortunate not to take a draw and if they play like that every game they won`t be in the relegation spots much longer. Full credit to the Owls tho who dug in and another clean sheet at Hillsborough.
