Amusing (Cruel?) Nicknames for aquaintances/workmates etc

Cebublue mentioned in the "anyone watching the other sf" thread about a girl that one of his mates went out with nicknamed "Burgermouth"

My mate went out with a girl once who had a huge round flat face - she was nicknamed "Frying Pan Face"

A long-haired ginger workmate in the 80's went and got a perm - he got the nickname "Ginger (Western Oriental Gentleman)"

A few years later a workmate had a semi club foot that he used to drag across the ground - he was nicknamed "Scrapie"

Recently someone I worked with got nicknamed "Thrush" not after the bird, but after the female medical condition as he was an irritating coont !!

In these non PC days this would never have been allowed. Once worked with a coloured Gentleman in the 80's who answered to the nickname (named after a very common American mammal shortened version. He even used to phone us from his dept & say, "c##n" here". He never minded @ all whatsoever & enjoyed the banter.
There was a wren when I was in the RN @ Nelson Barracks who had the nickname (behind her back) of "blowjob". I never actually...ahem...got to find out whether it was..ahem.. deserved. [;)] Pig Ugly & all.

All harmless work banter, as you say too many snowflakes & weak people who would take offence and call it "Workplace Bullying" these days ffs. Only the Ginger guy out of my 4 examples ever knew his nickname, the other 3 were kept in the dark [;)]

Another ex-workmate got the nickname "Dumbo" - he always knew all the workplace gossip - so "Dumbo" elephant ears). He even answered to that name, thought it a badge of honour !!

What is the point of this thread? An excuse to use pejorative names you've felt not able to express publicly until Brexit. Is this the new normal?

The point is a bit of Harmless FUN "Duffers" ... not something you are acquainted with being one of our resident "Snowflakes".

No excuse moosh -I have always called you "Duffers" .....so not the new normal, the old ways are sometimes best, and in this case they are ...comprende Monsieur?

Another one I remember is a girl called Tracey (who was rather well endowed)... someone nicknamed her "Topps" ... it was after a girl called Tracey Topps he had seen in some adult film who had the same attributes. Someone told her the boss thought she was the "bees knees" i.e the Top Employee - and this is why everyone called her "Topps" she believed him !!!

We had a polio affected colleague who had a weird limp when he walked. We called him 'snipers nightmare'
This wasn't our credit, some ex military fella he worked with at a previous job named him that. Still faf and fair play for bringing it with him.

Had a boss nicknamed "XXXXXX Legs".

He was on a Senior Management Conference that included a coach trip from their hotel to a drink all you want XXXXXX up and he ended up wrecked. He was found semi-conscious in the bogs having missed the khazi - apparently the bloke who found him threw up over him due to the stench! Initially the coach driver refused to have him on board, but this was the 80s and it was agreed he would be quarantined at the back if the coach windows were kept open!

Once word got round to us plebs, it became part of the informal induction of anyone new to let them know about how he acquired his nickname! On the plus side, if we ever turned up to work late after a heavy night or a lunchtime session, we'd give him a knowing look and always got away with it!
