It’s not often that you get the chance to see a stunning, classy, American singer songwriter visit your city on a Monday night, so when one does you make sure you make an effort to go and see them.

One such talent was the beautiful Sheryl Crow, who had come to the UK to promote her new album 100 Miles from Memphis.

I have been a big fan of Sheryl’s music since Tuesday Night Music Club and think she gets stronger with each album, indeed you always find a track on each album that you will like or can stand the test of time.

From All I Wanna Do, right through to the songs on the present album, Sheryl and her music has found a place in all of our hearts.

In her live concerts Sheryl puts a new spin on some of her old records and is not afraid to cover other artist’s songs, to great effect.

She has so many songs of her own to get through but she clearly enjoys covering songs that may or may not have played some part in her life.

As well as promoting her new album, she really connects well with the crowd and really enjoys herself on stage which is great for her fans to see.

Some artists just go through the motions on stage or don’t want to come to Glasgow but the same cannot be said about Sheryl.

The love that was shown towards her was genuine by her Scottish fans and I know she felt the same way too.

She appreciated the public coming out to see her in difficult financial times and she made sure that she gave them a show to remember.

The hits were mixed with songs from the new album and all were really well received

A Change would Do You Good, Can’t Cry Anymore, Strong Enough, My Favourite Mistake, Everyday Is A Winding Road, Soak Up The Sun, If It Makes You Happy,

All I  Wanna Do and fantastic versions of Sign Your Name and I Want You Back went down a storm also as Sheryl gave another great performance for her Scottish fans.

It may be 100 miles from Memphis but let’s hope it’s not that long till we see our Sheryl back in Glasgow again!
