I have a notoriously bad record at noting down dates. People over  the years have bought me calendars, diaries, all kinds of reminder systems have been attempted. Obviously, I know of a couple coming up in early August. One is a wedding of a mate from Winlation, and another is the arrival of 2 ex-colleagues, Italian lasses in toon for the day a week later.

However, leaving aside my general track record of total disorganisation on dates, birthdays, special events of all kinds, let alone ones that involve some kind of do that you get invited to,  I have marked a Big One down though.  In that calendar – I aint got a posh mobile by the way – which normally looks in total disarray.

July 31, Labour Club, Meeting of all kinds of NUFC fans trying to find a way forward to stop this current pillage and piss take going on at our club.

God willing, I am not ganna miss that meeting.

I dont expect to leave it, with a feeling that all Mags are in total, harmonious unity. I might be daft, but am not that daft! 2 NUFC in a room can end arguing with each other, whether it is about who was more shite at left back 3 years ago, who was the best midfield player in any of our sides over the years, or  worse, who was the worst Board ever.          Put another 6 into that room, and it could well lead to a total disturbance, to say the least!

The reason I say this, however,  is simple. Biased? I might be, but many non-NUFC have told me the same thing. The passion for this football club is red hot, intense, and is everywhere.

So. Back to that next Big Meeting of fans who are trying, from very different groups, to find some way forward in order to call a halt to the activities of Mister Mikey and his cohorts.

For sure, there will be some heat in the air at the Labour Club on that date on July 31. You would expect nothing less, but the organisers will ensure that voices can be heard.  And ideas, thoughts, suggestions, will be gathered together.

There will be no easy answers. We would be crackers if we thought there were . And as for alternatives, again, nowt easy on that front. How could they be?

But for me, the main thing is that those who can come along, will care for the club which is a vital part, not just of the city, and a big part of our region, but is actually ingrained deep in our culture.

Get along if you can, and obviously, many cannot for all kinds of reasons.      But if i can note it in my dishevelled lack of diary system, then I am sure the better organised can!!

Tarah.                    Bry

PS               And if, in the unlikely event, the date clashes with an unexpected invite to Buckingham Palace or wherever, I know where I am going. To the Labour Club in Newcastle that night.    Tarah again.
