Toon top on,beer sorted, bus or train booked..... Life as an away fan begins but could soon end just as quick if the club who have seemed to take up a lesser allocation of tickets for some away games than normal this season than in the past.

Im sure Im not the only one who has had a bee in their bonnet and criticised and been baffled by this and the box office handling and distribution, ok the club have to pay upfront for them and dont make money out of it and this has always been the case over the years, yes ticket prices arent exactly cheap to what they were back in the day, some costs far more than others charge but theres always been demand and always will be.

At Man City we only took the lower tier (1,700) where in the past we've also had half the upper tier and manage to sell out and Im sure for the fixture there in November we would of easily sold both out. Man United away the following week the club only took 1,800 where in the past we've always took nearly a 1,000 more.

Ive noticed for some games where there has been a choice of two prices for tickets but you dont get a choice of what price of what you want to pay where as you did in the past, the box office has been selling one priced set of tickets, then putting up the sold out signs, then releasing the other price tickets, this happened for Bolton away where we get a decent allocation of over 4,000,they released tickets for sale but announced it was sold out a few days later, apparently they decided to put the lower tier priced tickets on sale first, before they put the upper tier ones on sale, which is where I got my ticket for and even when I was at the match itself i found it strange the first 5 rows of seats were cordoned off which Im sure we would of easily sold. I was given reasons for this by different stewards and the local plod from dust from building work, ( there isnt any ongoing at The Reebok),to fear of fans falling over the edge!!!

I found it strange the way the club have strangely been selling away tickets this season and they dont even tell you the allocation for majority of them.

Another rule which came into force this season which many of us didnt know about was a travel group which effectively replaced the friends and family list even though its still on everytime you log in to the club website your s/t number.

I've had a couple of tribulations where Ive used a mates s/t number who is on my friend and family list to get tickets only for some of them to end up at a different address even though I had a e-mail confirming my ticket purchases and that they would all be delivered to my home address..

I contacted the box office up after 2 of my Blackburn tickets went AWOL only to be told that the aforementioned friend and family group doesnt not exist and that my mates s/t number I used is in a travel group which I would have to set up and you have to go in person to the box office as you cant set it up online.

Another set of rules which the box office seem to make up and they dont tell you about is that apparently you cant have no more than 10 of your friends in a group and you cant be in 2 groups at the same time, but you can come out of one group and into someone elses.

Fortunately there was a happy ending with the missing tickets as I knew the lad who's house they had been sent to.

The ban on general sale of away tickets after the mindless pitch invasion during the pre season friendly at Darlo shows no sign of letting up and there's still no word from the club when this will be lifted, however at Forest in the carling cup and the league game at Blackburn you could pay at the gate on the night,so the club had no control on fans who bought tickets on the night of them two games.

I feel this ban is punishing the law abiding fans who cant get tickets who live not just in the area but up and down the Uk in the likes of London for example where there is a big supporters branch there and they would want to go to London aways but cant get tickets for a mindless few idiots spoilt it for the rest.

The players always appreciate our support away from home and they would like to see hordes of us have a whole end of a ground not a little section in a corner.
