Newcastle v Reading (3pm)
18 January
Referee - Andre Marriner

United look for their first much-needed victory of 2013 on Saturday afternoon, when Brian McDermott's side are the visitors to St. James' Park for a 3pm kick-off.
Reading are five points and tree places behind Newcastle, proving how much of a must win game this is for United. Surely the outlook does not look good without a positive result.
United will be without injury victims Ryan Taylor, Dan Gosling, Haris Vuckic, Hatem Ben Arfa and Danny Simpson while Cheick Tiote is away on international duty.
Shola Ameobi is available again after serving a one match suspension while Steven Taylor may return to the squad having missed the last nine Premier League games.

With the postponement of his scheduled talks with the club, Fabricio Coloccini should be available to lead the side. If not, the armband looks likely to go to Yohan Cabaye, although Shola Ameobi has previously worn it.
Hal Robson-Kanu is doubtful while both Jason Roberts and Alex McCarthy remain out. A debut is anticipated for full back Stephen Kelly following his transfer from Fulham.
Like Newcastle, Reading are without an away win in the Premier League this season and have lost nine of their eleven fixtures away from home, taking points from trips to Swansea and QPR.
The Royals haven't recorded a top-flight victory on the road since a 4-0 success at Derby in May 2008, when relegation had already been confirmed for both sides.

Since the first fixture against Reading at St James' Park, Newcastle have:

Won 7
Drawn 0
Lost 0

Howay the lads!
