Sam Allardyce makes his second appearance in the away dugout at SJP since leaving United in 2008 this afternoon, when United entertain West Ham (he left grinning and with all three points the last time, when his Blackburn Rovers side won 2-1 here, a day over two years ago).

Kick off is at 3pm and the game will not be televised. A wreath laying ceremony will take place prior to kick off as it is Remembrance Sunday. Lest we forget.

Cheick Tiote and Fabricio Coloccini are banned, while Ryan Taylor, Dan Gosling, Haris Vuckic and James Perch are out injured.

News is still awaited on the fitness of right-back Danny Simpson. However, the good news is that Demba Ba should be fit to play against his old side.

Coloccini begins a three game ban after United opted not to contest his dismissal at Anfield last week, while fellow
miscreant Tiote serves the third and last game of his ban.

Jonas Gutierrez meanwhile is on the verge of a one game domestic ban after picking up four bookings so far this season. The sidelined Perch is on the same total.

Defensive pair James Collins and James Tomkins will have fitness tests on Saturday but Guy Demel is available again. Matthew Taylor, Ricardo Vaz Te and Jack Collison are all out injured.

In the last 10 against West Ham at St James' Park, Newcastle have:

Won 5
Drawn 4
Lost 1
