Well, our rivers have seen many a launch of a ship, to say the least. Those days are gone, but at least a new boat was unveiled today, as it set off on its merry way. It was a calm affair. It had to be, as it was at 10.30 am. Various elements of the media were there to see this vessel blessed with an unveiling. By one of the NUFC Kings. Commonly known as Supermac. He is in good company,  as the Mighty Wyn, Sir Les, and Big Al had already given their endorsement of the blessing itself, and are on the front sign!

The latest Geordie engineering project is called the Number 9 Bar. Its destination? A black and white journey, for sure, but the actual ship willl stay in the harbour. At Stowell Street. A kick in the arse off St James Park. A new, and proper base, and Home for the Mags, after all these years. Entertainment? Depends what you want. Old songs on match days, new ones, comedians - plenty in there, i suspect or i know - local music bands, informed crack from former players, and not least from fans themselves. Oh aye, and other things too, including brilliant paintings on display from a painter in the NUFC tribe.

What really hits me about the whole idea of the Number 9 bar, which, I suspect might be canny chocker on Saturday afternoon, is that it is a bloody good bash at recreating a proper NUFC bar, where fans can gather, crack on, and just be......Mags.

Anybody looking at this might think it is an advert. It is not. It is just a brief note, or blog, or whatever, on alerting anybody who fancies something new, and something old, afore the visit to SJP. Good luck to the Number 9 Ship!
