The day set off fine - propa fine, with the sun out. Naturally, with that yellow thing in the sky, a good mood was on the agenda. Trust paper talk about NUFC to change that bounce in the step. My own fault, as I popped up to buy the Sunday Sun. The real one that is, not the bloody Murdoch shite paper trying to steal the original Sun's name from our nation. But I should not have gone up to the newsagent in retrospect.

It caused a change in mood. Back page, and accompanying inside piece, cheesed me off. Call me a cynic, but I try to read between the lines. Hope I am wrong on this occasion - I usually am - but Pardew sounded like he was ready to sell Cisse and Cabaye if silly money came in. I would have preferred him to state that, in particular, those two players are simply not for sale, and NUFC are ready to push on. I rang a mate, and he felt the same. I dont want us to be offering stupid fees for footballers, and agree with our current strategy in relation to young players. Leave the daft side of the game to Man Arabia City, etc, eh. But equally, we should not be a selling club ever again, not when it involves our best players. Call me naive, but Newcastle United should not be seen as an easy target for the likes of the two Manchesters in terms of poaching our footballers.

As you can see, change in mood had to be overcome. It was. Played tennis against the two younger daughters in the afternoon. Such determination, natural skill, and astute tactics on display. Not from me, like. From them! The sun was out again, and all was well.

Got hyem, and turned on a brilliant radio programme, which does a 2 hour slot covering the music charts from different years. One involved 1971, the other 1982. Now. Time for mood changes all ower the shop, and a canny few related to football memories. T.Rex, 1971, thoughts of Supermac's goals in front of that Leazes End, when I was 13. Happy Talk, Captain Sensible. 1981. Woops, bit of a fall in mood again. Shite season, shite away matches, shite year really under Thatcher and not just with the NUFC at home and away.

Time for sun to be restored onto the Mood Scene, as the yellow character in the sky has disappeared.

Shearer Goals dvd - again - accompanied by a couple of cans of lager, piece of chicken, and a tab or two. Some might think that it is sad. Up to them. I call it Bliss.

Hope all toontalk followers had a canny day........and that they had more high moods than low today. Black and White Till We Die.
