The "Entertainers" era was and always will be one of the highlights of my time as Chairman of Newcastle United.

When Kevin was persuaded to come out of retirement and come back to Newcastle. The deal was done! I guess we found each other at the right time. It was a unique 'time' in the history of Newcastle United. We were everyone's second team, we played such exciting football. We spent over £60m on players-Beardsley,Rob Lee, David Ginola,Andy Cole,Les Ferdinand, Tino Asprilla and many more. What a team we had. Then of course buying Alan Shearer for £15m was money very well spent. What an ambassador for the area he was and continues to be.

The Entertainers team is fondly remembered by all supporters from that era, more for their flamboyant, attacking style than  ultimately winning any trophies. They came agonisingly close to becoming the Premiership Champions in 1996. The 4-3 defeat  at the hands of Liverpool, known as the Premier League's 'Greatest ever match', summed us up!

A wonderful time that I will never, ever, forget.

Sir John Hall

The history of Newcastle United between 1992 and1997 will always be known as the era of "The Entertainers." In those 5 years we didn't win any trophies  but the team won the hearts and minds of their Supporters and ALL football supporters throughout the Country and the World!

The combination of Sir John Hall, Freddy Fletcher and Kevin Keegan was and probably will always be, the ultimate in football management.

The wonderful, beautiful, flowing football, the excitement, the great goals. Sky Sport loved Newcastle United hence the name "The Entertainers"

The team spirit was immense, the lads had a great understanding of each other's game. The interpassing from back to front took your breath away!

I was fortunate to become an Honorary Vice President for life in 1993 and will never forget the pleasure that the Manager and his team gave me with their football.

Thank you!
