Seen the Boro win 4-2 at Newcastle, on the 14th January, with a brace from Billy Ashcroft, Stuey Boam & as Kenneth Wolstenholme said on sundays ‘Shoot’ program, 10 out of 10 & one for neatness, when little Stan Cummins notched our 4th goal.
John Neal was putting together a very good, exciting team

Our 2nd game without the talisman Graeme Souness's transfer to Liverpool

Boro team that day:
J.Platt, J.Craggs, I.Bailey, J.Mahoney, S.Boam, A.Ramage, D.Mills, S.Cummins, B.Ashcroft, T.McAndrew, D.Armstrong, sub, J.Hickton

Hope you're well this day Barnsy?!

Micky Burns & Irvine Nattrass, both signings made by the late, great John Neal, MB was a classic signing at £10k from Cardiff, scored quite a few goals for the Boro including scoring 4 v Chelsea the fiollowing season, IN, for me was another good signing, though unfortunatly injuries ruined his true potential at the Boro

Clingon33, Souness came back a few years ago, I regularly go to ex players reunions & he cam back for the 73-74 reunion & spoke very highly of his time at the Boro, got a cracking photo of myself with Souness & one with my late brother & Souness, magic.

That nigt I won a 73-74 fully signed, Willie Maddren & Bobby Murdoch apart, canvas, the only one about too [^]

I was there - what I remember most was an outstanding performance from one John Craggs. Great day out, with only minor hassle from a few of theirs....

erimus. Nattress had an interest/passion outside of football, this led to an injury lay off whilst with us. What was it?

Didn't he have a passion for horses, having his own racing horse etc, didn't realise his injury was anything other than football related TBH

Correct, horses. Not sure about the racing aspect though. He was sidelined for a while after one of his horses stood on his foot.
