A festival, the launch of a season of jazz Sundays and talking of Sundays two amazing gigs in one evening. And then just look at the talent heading our way this evening and Saturday. On the day The Killers was announced at the Riverside this is no music backwater.

Brix & The Extricated have announced a UK tour for autumn 2019 to promote their third studio album Super Blood Wolf Moon following on from their critically acclaimed albums Breaking State (2018) and Part 2 (2017).

Live the Extricated are multi dimensional with their hypnotic brutality conjoined with a delicate vulnerability. The band perform with a vital energy led by spellbinding front woman Brix Smith.
They play with no restrictions and a sense of dangerous freedom in their live shows that is both boundary pushing and dimension smashing.

To experience the full dynamic spectrum of this incredible band seeing them live is a must.

Brix & The Extricated were formed in 2014 by iconic vocalist/guitarist Brix Smith Start and legendary bass player Stephen Hanley. Stephen’s brother Paul joined on drums reigniting the Hanley Brothers powerhouse rhythm section. The inclusion of Steve Trafford (Fall Heads Roll) on guitar brought together these influential, former members of The Fall. The line up was completed with the addition of dynamic Irish guitarist Jason Brown.

The third full-length from Mannequin Pussy, Patience is an album fascinated with the physical experience of the body, its songs tracking the movements of mouths and hands and racing hearts, skin and spit and teeth and blood.

Goodbye Loona are a musical trio from Nuremberg who've been busy playing their lovely twinkly music around Germany, Austria and the Netherlands. They've decided to come over to the UK to play some shows in November and have included Middlesbrough on their travels! UTB! So let's show them the best time and cosy up in the attic for a night of beautiful music. This definitely calls for extra fairy lights...

Support for this show comes from the lovely local talent that is Jonny Godwin. Super excited to welcome him to the attic for the first time, too!

Neat Records Story by Steve Thompson

The amazing story of a small North East record label that went on to reverberate around the world is coming to Hartlepool.

The Neat Records Story, which recounts the influential Heavy Metal music record label.

The story is being told by one of the label’s founder members, Steve Thompson, and will be an in-depth presentation including audio and video as well as out-takes and unreleased tracks.
Thompson worked on influential tracks by the likes of the Tygers of Pan Tang, Raven and Venom at the tiny Impulse Recording Studios in Wallsend.

The New Wave of British Heavy Metal (NWOBHM) went on to be hugely influential around the world affecting multi-million selling American band and trash metal pioneers Metallica.

At the FishermansArms, Steve The Godfather of The North East NWOBHM - will give an in-depth presentation of his time at the coal face of Heavy Metal.
