It is a Good Friday showdown to savour as Boro lock horns with Championship leaders Wolves at the Riverside. If 6th place Boro could win this tea time thriller then it would be a massive boost in confidence as well as points for our play off push. Kick off 5.30pm.

Sixth place Boro attempt to re write this season's formbook by finally beating a top six team. They don't come much more difficult to depose than Nuno Espirito Santo's team of all the talents. Even without former Boro target Diego Jota, they have so many talents to call on. Players like former Bournemouth striker Benik Afobe who scored two goals last time out at Burton and the continental flare of Helder Costa and Ruben Neves.

Yet the weight of history is very much in our favour, Wolves have not won in Middlesbrough since 1951. So, never then at the Riverside. They beat us 1-0 on the opening fixture of the season and you have to go back 43 seasons since they last completed a double over us.

That first match defeat was only settled by a Daniel Ayala error, something unlikely to be repeated as the big man is playing out of his skin at the moment. Wolves did out play us in August and showed off an impressive passing game. But Traore cut deep into them, his goal at Brentford was his fourth in the last eight games. It is not just Patrick Bamford on a hot streak. Hot streak being a very apt term to describe the exhilarating pace and power of Adama. The best player in the division at the moment. Boro's defence held out in the last game with that draw at Brentford, now can we turn defence into attack and record a massive morale boosting victory?

Wolves went into the international break after winning well, 3-1, against our Monday opponents, Burton. They have won three of their last four games to show they are not taking their foot off the pedals as they motor on towards Premier land. Boro can put a road block in those plans if we can extend our six match unbeaten run and make it a very Good Friday with a golden win over the Old Gold.

Having lost all over home contests against top six sides this would really send out a signal just at the crucial time that we are finally arriving at the promotion party. We could take that momentum through to the play offs. But lets not get ahead of ourselves first we have a really difficult game to approach.

It is bound to be a packed house and the Riverside will be absolutely rocking today. And it will be a game that will light up everyone's Easter if Tony Pulis can plot a way to roll over the Old Gold and lead Wolves on a merry dance.

Come On Boro and Up The Boro. We can beat Wolves.
