Liverpool are the subject of a takeover bid by Chinese billionaire businessman Kenny Huang, who is talking directly to the club's bank RBS and American owners George Gillet and Tom Hicks.

Angry fans have made their feelings known many times with marches against the current regime around Anfield, and a sorce close to Huang says he is optimistic of a deal.

The source, talking to BBC Sport, also said that the owner of investment company QSL Sports LTD would like a deal concluded by the time the transfer window closes.

The source said: "Huang has made a firm proposal. The club's board has to sanction the sale and it could be sewn up in days.

"Kenny is the only serious bidder interested in the club and he's optimistic," the source finished.

Huang has been in discussions about clearing the club's debt with Royal Bank of Scotland since April it has revealed, but reports in nearby Vietnam suggest the deal has been rebuffed by Gillet and Hicks.

Huyen Le from the Vietnam Telegraph is quoted on as reporting: "Mr. Huang has proposed acquisition of Liverpool but Hicks and Gillett do not agree."

Le also states Gillet would prefer an approach from Syrian Yahya Kirdi, and has introduced him as a way of stalling Huang's deal.
