Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez feels he has unfinished business with the Carling Cup, and wants to get on the path back to the final by beating Leeds United tonight.

In the Spaniard's first season in charge the Reds were runners-up to Chelsea in the league cup competition, and Benitez wants to get his hands on the trophy that has eluded him since then.

He said: "In my first season we got to the Carling Cup final and were winning with 10 minutes to go before we conceded an own goal.

"I would like to go to the final again and make amends for that defeat," Benitez admitted.

He went on: "We know it will be tough- it is a massive club despite the division they are in.

"I have no doubts that this will be a very difficult match, they have quality and they are a big club with great traditions," Benitez said.

The former-Valencia manager continued: "They will want to win this one because of the situation they find themselves in.

"They have passion, quality and the fans are always really behind their team," he warned.

Fernando Torres and Steven Gerrard are expected to be rested, with Ryan Babel expected to play after a good performance from the subs bench last week.
