Liverpool have made the decisionto change sponsors as of next season, with Standard Chartered Bank becoming the new club partner until the 2013/14 season- replacing Carlsberg on the front of the Red jersey for the first time in 17 years.

The deal is rumoured to be worth £80 million to the club and shows signs of the contacts utilised by American owners Tom Hicks and George Gillet.

Managing director Christian Purslow said of the deal: "The partnership brings together two highly successful organisations.

"Many branches in these countries will effectively be a shop window for Liverpool football club and a means of attracting more supporters to the cause," Purslow continued.
