Liverpool football club have confirmed the building of the club's new stadium at Stanley Park will be put on hold indefinetly as the club's owners wait for the global recession to subside.

The Stanley Park development is a large part of the legacy American's Tom Hicks and George Gillet want to leave at the club, but the club say it simply cannot be done in the current times.
