Liverpool returned to winning ways today as they came from behind to defeat Bolton Wanderers 3-2 at the Reebok stadium today, Steven Gerrard, Fernando Torres and Glen Johnson grabbing the goals.

Manager Rafael Benitez had to face questions over his side's title challenge this season after losing two of their opening three league games but his side bounced back from a Kevin Davies opener and a Tamir Cohen goal to steal all the points.

An action packed match saw the sides go in level at half-time, Kevin Davies finishing after a shaky Liverpool defence failed to clear from a corner.

Fernando Torres then won a corner which eventually fell to Johnson to score his second goal in consecutive games.

Cohen edged the home side back in fropnt after the break running onto Davies' flick-on and finishing neatly.

However Wanderers summer signing Sean Davis saw red for a second bookable offence and suddenly the momentum was with Liverpool.

Gerrard struck the bar with a long-range drive before Dirk Kuyt set up Torres to lash home.

And the points were Liverpool's when Gerrard popped up again to crash in a match-winning volley.

It could have been even worse for the Trotters had Torres' late effort not been cleared off the line.
