Can you push it back a week to Fri 23/ Sat 24th?

I will be in Leicester for the Sheff Utd cup game, then fly back to Toronto on Sunday Feb 18th.

Duke of Gloucester at Yonge & Bloor was always a great football pub or Scallywags at Yonge & St. Clair.

Let me know the Toronto Roofers preferred meeting-place and will be happy to join the party [^]

Close to the Bend - keep checking the board.

Looks like Bobcajun Saskwatch is the Toronto chapter organizer, so should be posted, once date and venue is confirmed

2.5 hrs west (London-area) is a short run over, by Canadian standards. Would be good to have all eligible Roofers make it over to Toronto for this.

should be simple - no need for any James Bond style, secret handshakes or scratch your left ear, three times

Pick a Toronto pub and meet time - all Roofers show up in Leicester shirts.

As there's less than a dozen of us in Ontario, shouldn't be too hard to connect & introduce.

I may even get some sticky labels used for parties.... "Hello, my name is... WOMBAT".

Just got to get past the wife asking, "who the hell is Wombat?"

Yeah, I'll get the ball rolling and consult with Guy. Be in touch buddy?

Three boys are downtown, one 50/50 Guelph/Toronto, so it's easy. We'll put our heads together and give Wombat and Close to the Bend priority? Convenience and weather permitting?
Hey Close, if you're London/Kitchener I guess you're getting hit harder than we are. We'll work it around you.

The Duke's a toilet now, better Scallywags.

I will ensure that:

- The bar will be well stocked with... JAZZ. Hard Bop, not that free form crap. Suck it KP.

- I propose Soho be banned from this event. Which is pretty frikkin remarkable considering he's not on the continent.

- I'll bump the thread when I get it figured

Like I said, the last time everyone was in the same bar at the same time was Mickey Adams era. How nuts is that?

Great spot for the meet-up (lots of room, good food & beer) is Crooked Cue bar & pool hall at Royal York & Bloor, if you don't have anywhere specific in mind?

Less than 2 mins walk from Royal York subway and theright side of town for thise coming from western Ontario.

Saturday 24th is blocked off [^]

Leicester v Stoke, 7:30am kick-off EST, should give us loads to talk about and hopefully we're still basking in the glow of victory vs Sheff Utd [:P]

However, like most long-standing City fans, the pain of losing to Wycombe in the FA Cup quarters, AT HOME, and the season-long, downward spiral that followed, is still one of my most painful memories in football.

I'll say a quick hey. I'm Leaside and double shifting that weekend and Etobicoke means driving so I'll keep it quick.

Bob - Guy's got a gig down by Union station, so three days in TO, then commuting to Guelph for the rest to ease the strain. So I've been told anyway.

Ok so given people are all over the city, perhaps Scallywags is a good choice centrally, short of that, yonge and bloor, right in the middle - there's a number of pubs in that area - Firkin on Bloor, The Pilot, there's a new Firking on Bay opening up.

Duke of Gloucester is a disaster, but the Artful Dodger on Isabella (2 blocks south of Bloor) is okay and gets a pretty good football crowd.

What do you lot think?

Bobcaygeon - my preference is west end on the TTC line as a few will be coming from west of GTA

Crooked Cue, Monks Kettle or King Henry VIII Ale House are all 2 mins walk from Royal York subway

I will go with the flow and if you choose a downtown pub, no problem - I will be there [^]

Would appreciate a 7.00 / 7.30pm start as I have to drive to Fort Erie, Sunday morning for work.

Amusing to see that a transatlantic branch can't organise a p!ss up in a brewery in the likeness of the C ockerknee Roofers Xmas soirée. If you can get it together you should be safe health-wise though: it will be too far for Evington to travel to join in the fun.

Won't object to Wombats neck of the woods, if there's a line on good pubs/food, I'm in.

I'm just the other side of the bridge, so Scally's obviously convenient. Guy_Fox is a game-time decision, if he can make it, he'll be staying at Yonge/Lawrence. Updates as they come in.
