Because you are already under the cosh and you are hoping to play a bit more of the game in their half?

My theory ge wanted to keep 442.
When amartey came on we were 451, and the James sub put us back at 442.
I can't believe mahrez lasted 90 mins.
I hope the players let him know that their hard work was let down by his lazyness.

So Mahrez cost us the game? [:D][rle]

Simpson and Morgan were a mess. James looked leggy after 10 mins. It was like watching a 14yr old having a knock about with the grown ups he was that far off the pace. But tactically what a shambles today. Could easily have taken James off for King. Could've switch Vardy for Nacho to maintain the 4-5-1. Either way going 4-5-1 for ten minutes and then deciding to tinker and then switch to 4-4-2 again was crackers.

Mahrez losing the ball in midfield several times and failing to track back made a big contribution to the loss

arsenals wing backs were always going to be a problem for both Albrighton and Mahrez. Both were pretty ineffective because even Vardy when against Bellerin is outpaced. So a slower Mahrez and slower still Albrighton can't beat their last man and have to track back more. But his ball set up Vardy goal and his pass of the match could and should've lead to another goal for Vardy. He didn't cost us the game.

They've got all the motivation they need now to go on a run - to prove Mr Hide very, very wrong.

Mahrez played like an immature schoolboy trying to impress the scouts on the touchline. Nearly everything he did smacked of collecting excerpts for his pre-Barca showreel. If we go in 2-1 up we win the game. arsenal are booed off, Wenger is booed off, they have a right fslling out at half time. We ride out the first 15 minutes and the three points are ours.

Ten seconds before the h/t whistle the ball comes to him in loads of space and he decides its time for one of his dawdling. slow motion tricks, gets robbed and invites them to set up one last attack. And that in a nutshell is why no-one will pay 50-million for him and it's why CS needs to grow the balls to drop him. Gray would never have done that, neither would Albrighton - it's about being a team player.

On the substitution i agree. CS made a miscalculation not unlike when he went gung-ho to try and get a result v Spurs. We had taken the sting out of them with Amartey on and we needed King to replace James not another striker.

Your defenders then clear to the wings in the hope that Mahrez/Gray can join Vardy and get a clinching goal on the counter.

Much as I wanted to see Ian start his career, we didn't need another attacking player at that point. As it was he touched the ball about twice.

Well I'm not saying King is a world beater but he was the option we had and he would have done what he always does - an effective tactical job in line with the coaches' instructions and in line with the needs of the team. That might have got us through. I also last night points to something else - we definitely need to find an alternative to 4-4-2 because it only early works when you have two very special and very fit central midfielders. I thought Wilf was poor last night and James looked what he is, a player readjusting to the demands of the Premier League.

But I am furious about Mahrez - especially the fans who say that those who criticise him are failing to recognise his special talent. He is undoubtedly the most naturally gifted player we have had in my lifetime but he needs to learn game management and needs to learn to be much more effective when tightly marked. His throwing away of our half time lead last night was borderline unforgivable.

Mahrez is unplayable at his best and he still posed an attacking threat last night but he needs benching and to be told exactly how he helped with us conceding that goal before half time. And he needs to learn how to deal with it when the oppo are targeting him. Offload it quickly is the only way. [:(]

Great to come back on here and see footballing opinions about Leicester City.
Love it.
Don't mind all the other flannel but it's my first reference for the game.
