York's Rich Corner dented Chris Thompson's bid for a second Stage victory in The Streamline Taxis York Open Darts Championship held at Huntington WMC. A 16 dart opener from Corner was cancelled out by 18 from Thompson. Corner took the next three legs in 15-20-13 to open up a 4-1 lead. A 180 for 20 darts was Thompsons final input as Corner took the 7th leg in 24 darts to win the Stage two Final 5-2.
Corner's route to the final included 2 x 180's in 11 and 15 darts in a 3-1 quarter final victory over John Pickering and a 4-0 win over Ray McInally in the semi's. 
Thompson (14-19-17-17) defeated John Quantock (15) 4-1 in the semi-final whilst his quarter final victory included a 20 dart leg in a 3-2 win over Neil Hart (15-17).
Hart's route to the 1/4 finals had included legs of 17-17-20 then 18-18-16 followed by 16-15-16 in a 3-2 group win over Bridlington's Barry Ballaban.

Corner's Group matches included 13-3 x 16 and a 148 finish for 15.

Other highlights came from John Pickering 17-17-15 in a 3-1 win over Tommy Heron (Whitwell-on-the-Hill) (180 for 13)
Quantock hit 116 finish, 180 for 15, 3 x17 and 20 dart legs in his group matches.
Kev O'Hara (Driffield) included legs of 13-16 and 2 x 18's
Chris Mathews (Norton) 2 x 18, Dave Kerr 20-21, Dave Scaum 2 x 21-17-19, Andy Myhill 3 x 21 plus 180 and 108 finish, Oliver Mitchell (Scarborough) 180 plus 16-18, Shaun Day 120 finish for 15, Nick Harteveld 20-2 x 21, Jamie Ellam (Barton-upon-Humber) 15, Daniel Lidgett (Hull) 15, Tim Owen 16.

Other 180's came from Mark Greenley (Driffield) and Stuart Ireland (County Durham) with high checkouts coming from Andy Senior (Bridlington) 116, Keith Craggs (Scorton) 121 and a 150 finish from Ray McInally.

Stage Three is this Saturday (3rd March) registration closes midday with Stage Two of The Streamline Taxis Ladies Championship also taking place registration closes 1pm.
