Fox Hunting

Championship strugglers and relegation fodder Leicester City are the latest visitors to the Ricoh Arena. Rumour has it that up to 64’000 Leicester supporters will be making the short journey up the M69 to see how new Stadia should be and could be built.

What should be considered by most Coventry fans as three points in the bag against such poor opposition quite often turns to disappointment as we have seen a number of times over the years.

Both sides have new managers since the last time these two teams met at the Walkers Stadium as the nation witnessed a Leicester side hang on for dear life for a two all draw after leading two nil courtesy of a linesman’s decision every bit as bad as the one England had to endure in the World Cup against Germany.

New Sky Blues manager, Aidy Boothroyd has spent the last few months slowly moulding a team of his choice with patience being the key word. The icing on the cake will be the new signings of Marlon King and Danny Ward, on loan from Bolton, ready to face the Foxes.

On the other hand, panic appointment Poalo Sousa, who took the helm at Leicester after Nigel Pearson joined a long succession of managers in walking away from the struggling Championship side has himself panicked, wasting £3 million on Sunderland never been, Martyn Waghorn and Yuki Abe in a cynical move to appease the potential new Asian investors as Milan Mandaric has made his intentions quite clear that he wants to return to his first love, Portsmouth.

If Boothroyd isn’t distracted by the poor opposition and doesn’t play a weakened team like he did against Morecombe then this should be an easy win for the Sky Blues.

Coventry City 3 – 0 Leicester City.
