Celtic will enter Tuesday's Scottish Cup Fifth Round draw after seeing off Third Division outfit Berwick Rangers 2-0.

The match was played on a bumpy surface not conducive to passing football and the visitors took until the 82nd minute to finally put the tie to bed.

Celts made two changes to the side which had won last Sunday's Old Firm encounter with Swedish star Freddie Ljungberg making his debut whilst Lukasz Zaluska made a rare appearance in goal.

Club Captain Scott Brown returned from suspension but had to make do with a place on the bench.

The Wee Rangers were looking to etch their name into the history books once again, 44 years on from a sensational victory over the other half of the Old Firm, Rangers.

The home side started brightly and were certainly up for the fight but Celtic took the lead when Mulgrew's ball was headed home by Majstorovic.

James Forrest had a great chance to extend the Celts lead but was foiled by a fine stop from Peat.

The Hoops dominated the second half but had to wait until the 82nd minute before sealing the victory when Brown, on for Ljungberg on the hour mark netted the killer second.

Beram Keyal knocked a fine ball into Brown's path and the former Hibs man fired across the keeper into the corner of the net.

Anthony Stokes also saw a late effort ruled out for offside but by that time Celtic were all but assured of their place in the next round.

Celtic : Zaluska, Wilson, Majstorovic, Rogne, Mulgrew, Ljungberg, Ledley, Kayal, Forrest, McCourt, Samaras

Subs : Forster, Stokes, Brown, Juarez, Crosas
