O/T ISS visible from Blackpool tonight

The ISS will be visible tonight from Blackpool at 20:44. It will appear from WSW and will be visible for 4 minutes. It will appear in the general direction of the moon and looks like a fast moving plane.

It is well worth a look, if you like that sort of thing

Shame about the cloud. Chances of seeing it pretty slim.

There is a great app that shows the live video from the ISS looking down on earth. Also shows the path its taking.

Nice one Clash.

Sky is clearing a bit. Got my big binocs ready.

Shame it moves too fast for the telescope and too small for the go-to to work, if it does?????

Just seen fantastic views again.

Mark I noticed that 4 lights going across it as it was almost out of view? They we’re evenly spaced apart I Just assumed they were aircraft at first but 4 in a line?

Immediately went in and looked on flight radar and no aircraft in the area at all nearest was Liverpool, weird or what? [?]

And no I’ve not touched a drop tonight.

Shed you can see satellites most clear nights and that's how they behave. Fast moving and white light only. I've never seen a cluster like that though. Russkies? [:O]

I've not seen them Scratchings, but lines of satellites have been reported online over the past few months.

Apparently they are recently launched from a space vehicle, up to 60 at a time. They orbit the earth in evenly spaced line until testing is complete then they are moved, one by one, to their final orbit. The duff ones are returned to the atmosphere where they burn up.

A bit disappointing imo... like watching a plane and then 2 + 3 smaller ones in a line (there were 5 sat's btw not 4)

No one waving from the ISS windows, nothing. [8)]
