Seems to be the most likely route given BM wants to play god on transfers. Give a coach the title of picking an 18 as Mansford doesn’t have the qualifications for that bit.

The Robinson and Wellens approaches just for show when he starts waffling to pad out the eventual announcement.

Less experience than Evatt. Surely we can do better?

Mansford has a plan apparently. Dunny reckons simeone will be in. And the betting has been suspended. Name mentioned is odd and doesn’t fit. So it’s a head scratcher.

It being made to sound like the random scattergun has finally found someone

You wont get many more qualified than Critchley.
Whether or not he would be a success who knows, but that goes for all of them.

Really not sure what to make of that at all. The only thing I know is that there's a whole world of difference in being responsible for Blackpool first team than Liverpool U 23's.

Good luck to the fella.

Indeed. It buys some time I’d say before either the reality hits or things start to come together. Guessing its easier to dispose of a Head Coach than it is a manager.

The coaching and recruitment structure needs to be made completely clear though so it doesn’t become different people trying to do different things.

Neil Critchley is 41 years old. If he ever wants to be a league club manager then now is the time. It looks like we are going to be the testing ground.

I can't see this as a one off appt. Obviously a No 2 (or 1??) will come in- fetch Thommo., but it need someone between NC and BM who can balance finance v football. Without that we're looking at tears again.

One thing I said in another post was getting a manager from the North West big U23 Accads would open a whole new pool of realistic transfer targets. U23 Players who get released would be more inclined to play for a manager who understands them and who they know (of) and respect. Even players in contract could be targeted with NC selling himself. That, to me is the most exciting part of NC coming in.

Let's see what follows....
