|Martin O’Neill has warned his defenders to be ready for Stoke’s long throws when Villa put their top-four hopes on the line at the Britannia Stadium.
The Potters’ well-chronicled main form of attack is bound to put pressure on Villa – with MON reminding his players of how much of a bombardment they suffered last time they went to Stoke.

O'Neill believes his in-form defence can deal with Rory Delap's lethal throws.
It proved to be Villa's undoing when the sides met at the Britannia Stadium last season, as Delap set up a late winner for Mamady Sidibe.
’I think they had about 16 throw-ins that particular afternoon,’ said MON.
‘The first one caused us a problem and the last one they scored from. I think the other 14 we dealt with okay. But it is a dangerous weapon. It is a very important weapon in Stoke's armoury at the moment and they do get a great deal of joy from that, scoring goals.’
