Milner said: ‘It will be fantastic for a lot of the lads to be in their first final. It will be my first final and I know what that means to me.
‘I think it took a while for it to sink in that we got there because we had such an incredible semi-final against Blackburn which was our third game in six days.
‘We know we are going to come up against a quality team in United who have been fantastic for many years and won so many trophies. But, although it is a great day out for the fans, the club, we are going there for just one thing - to win, not just to enjoy our day out.
‘We know we will come up against a strong side, but we know we can beat anyone on our day so it is down to us to go down there and put on our best performance at Wembley.’
Skipper Stiliyan Petrov is expected to be fit as he recovers from a virus.
The match is live on BBC1, Sky and the BBC Sport website.
