An avalanche of goals is being predicted from Gabby Agbonlahor after his first league strikes in seven weeks downed Fulham.

Gabby’s team-mate James Collins says the goals were no surprise given the way the England man has been performing in training – and he reckons many more will follow.

Collins said: ‘Gabby will probably go on a little run now and score a hat-trick. They were two great goals. The first one he showed his strength with the header. I don’t think he left the floor and he still nodded it in.

‘The second one was a great bit of skill and he showed his quality by bending it in the far corner. He’s brilliant. He was holding the ball up well on Saturday and linking up well with Emile Heskey up front.

‘You forget how young he is really. He’s still a young lad and he’s doing fantastic for us.

‘In training, he’s lively. He’s one of the quickest around, so obviously he keeps me and Dunney on our toes. It’s good practice for us. We’re both quite big fellas and personally I find it tricky on the floor sometimes against the quick lads.’

One team who will have to be wary of Gabby is Crystal Palace, who will entertain Villa in the FA Cup fifth round on Sunday, February 14, after Danny Butterfield’s hat-trick dumped Wolves out of the competition.
