Ive been told by Jez at Technical Advcie that the £103.12 said to be owed to us really is! It can apparently be paid it any account I say!!!!! Tempting......

I could open a Corridor of Uncertainty account at the soon to be opened Yorkshire Building Society branch in the Wharfedale town where I live. I can send you an annual statement of accounts. I have some of your addresses. We could make it 2 signatures. What do you think?

The monthly windfall will probably be in single figures. The £103 will have accumulated over perhaps a year.

Seems like an eminently good idea to have a CoU account and what better institution to place the largesse in? (Well the Yorkshire Penny Bank might have been a good idea! I used to have an account with them I never closed it so it must have accumulated several zillion by now.)

I suppose 2 signatures is good practice but what is the YBS position on Club type accounts? Speaking with several Treasurer's hats on I have had a number of quite acrimonious encounters with these financial institutions who regard the £4 3s 4p or so deposited in our local amdram account (for example) as a 'Business Account' and therefore subject to all manner of expenses and charges. The £103-odd wouldn't last long under those circumstances.

Has anyone else experienced this sort of thing?

We definitely don't want to be lumbered with any sort of charges.
Frankly, having said that, I'm happy to leave it all in Hawke's very capable hands, if you're happy with the responsibility, Hawke.
For what its worth, the Manvers Main tenner is banked with Nationwide, who don't charge interest or any sort of charges, but you do what you feel is best, Hawke.

I am happy for Hawke to oversee this account in whatever way suits him best.

Perhaps we should look to invest in something with the potential to see our funds grow significantly and increase our ability to fund more coaching events. I gather Greek bonds are yielding a fair bit more than a bank deposit account[smi]

Hawke - does this impact on how much you need from us re the coaching session at Saddleworth or have you got it covered fully now?

Drop me an email to let me know if my contribution is still needed

I think there is general agreement M'Lud for you to manage matters on our behalf and as appropriate.

I propose the 'windfall' pays for our share of the coaching fee at Saddleworth. I will open an account at the Yorkshire Building Society which receives the small monthly income and keep you posted with totals involved.

Fine by me. If you find you're incurring bank charges just keep the money yourself and write down what you owe in a book. The amounts are so small, anyway.

Happy to go along with whatever you feel best. Presumably, as it is a buiding society account there are no charges, just low interest rate.
I can actually recommend Yorkshire's e saver account. This pays 2.1%, no minimum opening balance ,and instant access. May save you a bit of time and travel, as is fully operational on line. Has been one of the better and more consistent accounts for some years.

Apart from this observation, happy for you to go with whatever is most convenenient fro myour point of view.

An account has been started in a newly opened branch of the Yorkshire Building Society in a Wharfedale town with £105. There is only one name needed so if you dont hear from me again Ive gone off with the filthy lucre.......

We have 'earned' £5.60 this month. The amount appears on the 15th of each month and is paid on the 30th. So that is approximately £65 per year. The number of unique visitors so far this month has not yet been recorded. Jez at Technical Advice is trying to find a better way of recording this.
