In a rain affected April, bad weatherhampered many a prediction and Yorkshires three drawn matches resulted in no one predicting a lowly position of 7th with no wins to date.

On the two "nearest the pin" questions, one point has been awarded to Old Seth and dpressed for number of overs bowled by Sidebottom with their guess of 78 and 80 evenly spread around his 79 overs.

Our largest stand was a disappointing 115 between Ballance and Bairstow in the first game v Kent so dpressed guess of 111 was the nearest (unlucky Donnylad with a guess of 120 which was one run away from the point).

Lyth not playing, becam obvious as the month went on and the specfulation about an overseas signing (which I assume won't be announced today) meand we were all correct (so if we do pull a rabbit from the hat and unveil Mitcell Starc at Headingley today we all get a point knocked off).

No one predicted Glamorgan as bottom of div 2 and 2 oppo batsmen were run out, Key by Gale on 97 and Yorkshire born Mills by Patto to bring an end to the well predicted last wicket Essex stand of frustration.

To some extent, "will a whole day be lost to weather" was the easiest point on offer, although no one scored a bonus for correctly stating that 2 full days would be lost!

The predictions now move on to Mays CC and the FPT. One entry still needed by close of play today (preferably) from groovyshortlegs.

and with typical timing I just read on the YCCC website that Moxon has confirmed Starc's signing although he still needs approval (an NOC) from the ACB so presumably there is still some i's to dot and t's to cross.

Technically, then, has he signed by end of April or not?

Not that it makes any difference as we are either all right or all wrong!

Hawke - its over to you....
