At a press conference in New York with Hulk Hogan and TNA boss Dixie Carter it was announced that Hulk has signed up to join TNA. TNA are now close to their dream of becoming a mini version of WCW circa 1998, and they move even closer because they have also signed controversial former WCW booker and Hogan collaborator Eric Bsichoff.

It will be interesting to see what happens within TNA as this move is bound to signal major shifts in the power structure backstage. When Hogan was in WCW he virtually took over the place and directed everything to the benefit of himself and his pals. Hogan has teased going to TNA several times - once he was even based by TNA co-founder Jeff Jarrett with a guitar in Japan but nothing happened - usually the result was he always go back to WWE for a bit. Hogan is strapped for cash now because of a divorce.

Hogan was a massively huge star in the 80s and a powerfull figure in the 90. His knees, hips and back are pretty shot now - he has said he can no longer do his famous leg drop - so any matches he is in will have to invovle a lot of standing still while people run into him.
