WWE's newest pay per view 'Bragging Rights' occured on Sunday, in some arena in Pittsburg. The show replaces Cyber Sunday, which had bombed for WWE year after year. For a while the show was rumoured to be retianing some of the interactive elements of Cyber Sunday with fans being able to vote by text message for match stipulations or oponents but this was eventually dropped. The idea is people don't like to pay for something when they don't know what they'll get. The only good thing about Cyber Sunday was it saved Roddy Piper's life a couple of years ago - he was voted into a match he wasn't expected to be chosesn for and after wrestling the match he had to see a doctor and discovered he had an undiscovered life threatening condition that doctors were able to avert.

The show was themed around the Smackdown brand vs the Raw brand. This was a marketing idea to tie in with the Smackdown vs Raw video game. The eventual format of the show was 3 Smackdown vs Raw matches with the brand that wins 2 out of 3 getting 'bragging rights' as the best brand, and a big FA Cup type trophy. The matches were Miz of Raw defeating his former tag partner John Morrison of Smackdown, a team of Smackdown women defeating the Raw women and finally a 7 on 7 tag match to decide the ultimate winning brand. The Raw team was HHH, Shawn Michaels, The Big Show, Cody Rhodes, Kofi Kingston, Mark Henry and Jack Swagger. HHH and Shawn (aka DX) were co-captains. The Smackdown team, which was changed the week of the show because Vince allegedly thought the original team had too many nobodies on it, eventually consisted of Chris Jericho, Kane, Matt Hardy, The Hart Dynasty (DH Smith and Tyson Kidd_ Northern Irleland fighting machine Fit Finaly and R-Truth. Jericho and Kane were co-captains. The Smackdown team evetunally were victorious after Big Show stabbed his team in the back, lamping HHH and chokeslamming Kofi from the top rope. jericho picked up the winning pinfall and the Smackdown team had a big celebration with their big trophy.

In other matches John Cena defeated Rany Orton in a 60 minute long anything goes Iron Man match. Cena gets the WWE (Raw brand) championship again and the rivalry is officially supposed to be over now, no more Orton Cena matches. The Undertaker retained Smackdown World title in a fatal four way with CM Punk, Batista and Rey Mysterio. Batista and Rey's close friendship and tag team partnership exploded after the match when Batista snapped, blaming Rey for him not almost but not quite winning the belt yet again (Rey broke up a pinfall that would have made Batisa champ at one point) and beat Rey into next week.

On Raw the next day Big Show explained he turned on Raw because Teddy Long, the general manager of Smackdown promised him a shot at Undertaker's title. He argued Jericho, with whom he jointly holds the unified tag titles for both brands.

Orton's henchman Rhodes and DiBiasie vowed to get the title off of Cena and return it to the Legacy faction. However the guest hosts announced that the next title match, at Survivor Series next month, would be Cena vs HHH vs Shawn Michaels.
