Aston Villa have joined Everton and Reading in the race to sign Kevin Doyle, the Daily Mail today speculates.
Toffees boss David Moyes had watched the Irishman and team-mate Stephen Ward in person at last week's win over Barnsley, with the Royals also believed to be plotting a swoop to take him back to the Madejski Stadium- Villans gaffer Paul Lambert is rumoured to be keen to pair him with Darren Bent at Villa Park to rack up the goals following a poor end to last season and a less than encouraging start to the new Premier League campaign.
Manager Stale Solbakken appears to have other ideas, though, quoted as saying : 'I have not heard anything about Doyle leaving and hopefully he will stay.'
