I can't see Appleton going unless he is told he is too expensive to be kept. He is relishing the opportunity to build his own team from nothing.

Admitted I am in the minority with "Appleton" but I am far from convinced that he his any where near as good as folk make him out to be. Some of his tactical changes have me scratching my head. Full points to the man for staying with us but lets not forget he his far from proven, I seriously doubt if "WBA"would want him as there manager(maybe coach) same with Brighton to be honest. I really hope he proves to be a good one but some of the "fanboy" talk about him is very over the top.

Poyet won't be leaving Brighton however I fear Appy joining the England back room staff is a major risk.

If we stay in League 1 under new non-Chainrai ownership, Appleton has the chance to do what few managers get to do: build a team entirely from scratch in his image. He also has the chance to become a Pompey legend in the same way that people like Frank Burrows and later Alan Ball did. He seems up for the challenge. I'd be surprised if he went anywhere if - and it's a big if - Pompey are under new ownership at the start of a genuinely new era.

as it stand at present I really can`t see us hanging around to long in league 1 all i want out of all this is chinwag away from our club (& any other money grabbing coont come to that)

I think Appleton will be off...I hope not but the managerial merry -go-round that is about to start will throw up better positions than are available at Div 1 Pompey. No owner, no squad, no money...? Where is the 'Stay' factor?? As Scumslayer says he will soon be our most cashworthy asset....he'll be off whether he wants to or not!
