Pompey have had a rethink on how to spend the £30,000 they have won in a fans' competition - and will now allow the very people whose persistence won the prize to decide how it should be spent. The club had decided to use the money to secure a reduction in season ticket prices. But after lobbying from fans administrator Trevor Birch has said he is happy to let supporters decide what the money should go on - although the lower prices for season tickets will remain in place. Pompey won £30,000 won in the npower Fanpower Stadium competition by posting messages on Twitter and Facebook. Birch had suggested to the Football League that this could help fund the cheaper season tickets but a Pompey statement said: 'Following consultation with the Pompey Supporters' Trust and other fans groups, the destination of the money, in keeping with the spirit of the competition, will be chosen by fans. 'This does not affect season ticket prices which remain at the reduced rates already set. Pompey and the PST would now like to invite fans to suggest ways the £30,000 could be used to benefit supporters by sending suggestions.' They can do this by email to johnnymoore@pompeyfc.co.uk or info@pompeytrust.com, on Twitter using #30K4FANS or at www.facebook.com/officialpfc Pompey supporters’ liaison officer Johnny Moore will select the five best ideas and a fan at random will be chosen to make the final choice from the five finalists. The closing date for ideas is Monday, July 2.
