It’s a busy weekend at The Georgian Theatre, Stockton as one of Teesside’s most popular tribute acts hits the stage on Friday and an album launch celebration takes place on Saturday night.
The ever-popular Southmartins bring their sell out set to The Georgian Theatre on Friday 9th March. The band have proved consistently popular with crowds across the region performing the biggest hits from Paul Heaton’s bands The Beautiful South and The Housemartins.
Assembling the finest musicians from around Teesside and playing some of the best known, feel good hits from the 80s and 90s is no doubt key to the bands success.
Local pop purveyors Andy Jones and The Norton Rockets provide the support for what promises to be a night of infectious, foot-tapping folk-pop.
Last few tickets remain and are £5 in advance or £7 on the door, it’s advised to check availability before coming down. Book via www.georgiantheatre.co.uk or call 01642 674115.
Phil Saunders of No School Reunion and Exit by Name fame celebrates the launch of his debut solo album Hardcore Folklore with a good old knees-up at The Georgian Theatre, Stockton on Saturday 10th March.
Phil has been a constant presence on the Teesside music scene for the past 18 years, mainly playing in metal and rock bands, and received a couple of KKKK reviews in Kerrang whilst doing so.
He’s played radio sessions for the likes of Marc Riley, Huw Stephens and Bob Fischer and supported everybody from Gallows to Biffy Clyro.
As a solo act Phil has shared stages with such luminaries as Frank Turner, Chris T-T, Franz Nicolay, Luke Leighfield, Jose Vanders and many more. He’s taking the stage in his spiritual home, The Georgian Theatre, with a full live rock ensemble to celebrate the release of his brand new full length album Hardcore Folklore.
And if support from Lift (groove-laden funked-up rock), Lessons (anthemic punk rock with a twist) and Bisons (pop-punk perfection) doesn’t complete the package for you - everyone who attends the gig also get a FREE copy of the album as well.
Tickets are £4 in advance or £6 on the door and are available at www.georgiantheatre.co.uk or call 01642 674115.
