Fresh from supporting the likes of Angus and Julia Stone, Frank Turner, Get Cape Wear Cape Fly, Johnny Borrell (Razorlight), Kate Nash, Luke Pickett, Scouting For Girls, Tellison, Walter Schreifels and many more, piano-pop troubadour LUKE LEIGHFIELD returns to Middlesbrough this Saturday.

Having literally toured all over the world - from Russia to China to Spain to Scotland to Germany to Sweden to wherever else would have him - Luke has rightly earnt the reputation as one of the UK's hardest working underground artists. His new album "Have You Got Heart?" should see him finally break into the mainstream, though, and with fans such as Huw Stephens (Radio 1), Prince Charles, Paul Daniels and John Kennedy (XFM) 2010 looks set to be his year.

"Luke Leighfield is just getting better and better. His tunes have a way of sticking fast in your head, and it's a real joy to watch him at a gig where everyone's singing along, so you have an almost community feel about the gig, but in the way that you very much feel part of that gang, regardless of whether or not you've seen him before (I know from my first experience, and from others having related that to me)."

Marsha Shandur, Xfm

"Luke Leighfield mournfully tinkles the ivories like Tony Hancock playing Elton John tunes. This is what happens when romantics step out into the big wide world. They become disenchanted and disillusioned with nearly bloody everything. The Fly thinks that Luke has got enough wit and hope to survive, but just keep an eye on him for us, will you?"

Andy Roberts, The Fly

"A breath of fresh air in this world of gloomy winters and moody blues."

Huw Stephens, Radio 1

Support comes from local legend Phillip "Alfie" Saunders. Best known for being a member of Exit By Name, No School Reunion and Alsatian, this is his first solo gig and he'll be backed by his very own Teesside supergroup. Imagine a mixture of Graham Coxon and Weezer!?

Doors open at 8:30pm and entry is FREE!

Guest DJ Matthew "Marky" Marko will be soundtracking your evening for the first couple of hours before our superstar resident Ste Foy takes over.
