Top travelling Boro musician Andrew Mockler is set to play one more show in town before heading overseas to further his music career. A former no.1 chart topper in the Antipodes, Andrew will be performing at Middlesbrough's Mink Tattoo and Coffee Bar this Friday.
Andrew arrived back in town last month after a six year absence down under. He played a storming return show in Mink Bar to a very appreciative audience. He played a great set with a mix of originals and popular covers from everything from Sting to Ce Lo Green. He was also joined by, and will be again on Friday, an array of special guests providing great one off collaborations and performances.
Andrew is in his late 20's, from Middlesbrough, and has been living and working in New Zealand for the past six years; Andrew has a degree in Jazz, Popular and Commercial Music from Newcastle University in the UK. He has performed all over the world and worked with some of the biggest names in the industry, such as Richard Branson, Sugar Ray Leonard, Robert Kennedy Jr., Sir Jeffrey Archer, the NZ All Blacks rugby team and many more. Andrew's personal career highlight so far, was working with Sting as a lead and backing vocalist in 2004 and 2006.Andrew wrote and released his debut single 'She Waits' in 2010 which reached #1 on the New Zealand iTunes singer songwriter chart.
This Friday is the last opportunity to catch him play in town for a long time. The show will be hosted by local musician and Joint Effort Productions promoter Rikki Doolan who continue to work closely with Mink Bar to provide Middlesbrough with entertaining music shows.
