Bears Hammer Sheffield
Redcar Bears smashed Sheffield Tigers by a resounding 54-39 point margin last night at South Bank. But sadly it was victory at a cost as Dan Giffard took a horrendous tumble unable to avoid the fallen Ricky Ashworth on the first bend. Dan just back after injury had to be taken to hospital for checks on a sore neck and shoulder. We wish him a speedy return.
It was a late late finish last night well after 10 o’clock because Dan Giffard being taken for precautionary x-rays. It just ....

Who Do You Boo?
Ever since the venerable Johnnie Hoskins pushed his wheelbarrow full of shale from Australia to the UK in the 1920's, speedway has always played out it's own brand of pantomime.
The heroic number ones and track record holders are always recalled with fondness, but equally loved and remembered are the villains. Roughhouse ruffians and snidey weasels…a ‘Terry-Thomas’ in leathers.
At the end of the 70’s, Middlesbrough fans would scour the fixture list in ....

They came they ultimately conquered but what a fight Redcar Bears gave Kings Lynn Stars. The fighting spirit epitomised by skipper Gary Havelock and the utterly fearless Ty Proctor could yet have massive repercussions this season. The way Havvy fought back to hammer the Stars heat leaders and the way Ty got back on his machine after a horrendous fall could inspire the team to head onwards and upwards again. Real belief once again.
Belief was something we were maybe only clutching at ....
