Not saying he will get the job but I know he has applied. Think he is currently at Huddersfield in a development role. Would anyone like him as manager?

Dunno really. A long playing career at high level - Newcastle, Villa, Everton, WBA, Sheff Wed., but managerially, only been Huddersfield development coach. I think we need someone with a good knowledge of the nuts and bolts of management at BSP level, and who can work to a tight budget. I just get the impression that, after the last 2 appointments, the board will be less inclined to gamble on someone untried, and go for someone with experience at this level. Financially speaking, we probably have a limited 'window of opportunity' to resource a push to return to league status, (2-3 seasons?). It is vital that we appoint the right man this time.

Experience at this level will almost inevitably mean failure at this level, unless the applicant is Sammy McIlroy.

Either way, to avoid further random names being bandied around, we need the board to announce an appointment as soon as possible. A fortnight has passed since BH left. I'm only guessing that interviews are underway and hope that this can be resolved, say by the end of this week, so we can move on with some optimism, depending on who we bring in, of course.
