| In view of recent results, you might also ask, "Why?". | |

| x 2. We had a sports physc in at our last game and he said, after watching the muppets gad about in warm up, that he could have them all 20% fitter. So that means the lazy gits are all perating at 80% fitness. Chalmers is at about 50% max! THEY ARE ALL USELESS | |

| A lot of the woes that have befallen us this season have been largely beyond our control, but general fitness definitely does not fall into that category. It's one thing we can do something about and should be an absolute priority. | |

| We have scored on several occasions late in games - indicating that we are actually fitter than the opposition? | |

| We've scored just 5 in the last 8 games, and 2 of those were penalties, and we've failed to score at all in 21 out of 44 games, so I think it's fairly academic. I wouldn't say that lack of fitness was the primary cause of our impending demise, I'm just making the point that it is one of the factors that should be within our control. | |

| I would say injury recovery rates and injury management were more a problem than general fitness. Look at Paul Morgan, consistently the fittest player at the club in general fitness terms, widely held to be a freak by the other players, yet out injured for over a year now. Also the timing of operations for players with hernias. Wedge, Chalmers etc. Elliot Hewitt played the majority of his games this season with a hip injury. He may not be back until after the start of pre season. | |

| We've scored more goals in the last 10 minutes of games than we've conceded. Looking at our recent games our last 16 goals scored have seen almost half - seven, scored in or later than the 80th minute. Including the last kick against Plymouth, 85 and 90 against Crawley and an additional 79th minute goal against Hereford. They can't be that unfit to be scoring goals late on. The fitness/injury issue is something we'll never know. But broken bones aren't fitness related. Fairhurst, Tomlinson, Draper, Morgan all missed games for that reason. | |
