OUT OF THE BOTTOM TWO

What chance is there that we will be out of the bottom two by 4.50pm on Saturday? I think Hereford will lose to Crawley who need to make it in to the automatic promotion places and Barnet are on almost as bad a run as us, so could conceivably lose at home to Wimbledon - who have won and drawn as many away games as they have lost and also won 2-0 last Saturday against high flying Torquay.
If we do get out of the bottom two going in to the last game it will be interesting indeed.

I'm not too hopeful.

Agree Hereford will probably lose to Crawley, but I can see Barnet getting at least 1 point from the Dons. Their respective home and away records are very similar, and Wimbledon have zilch to play for.

The only game we can affect, of course, is tne one against Burton. Let's at least go out and look like we want to win it, unlike at Bradford.

I agree with you Machiavelli, but I was just trying to keep spirits up and point out that it's not all over yet.

I thought we started at Bradford as though we wanted to win but after 20 minutes it all seemed to go wrong and the game deteriorated into a dire spectacle with the ball in the air all the time. Lack of confidence? Lack of stamina? Lack of skill? Lack of a mobile centre forward who makes runs? Lack of money!!!! Donelly and Tomlinson could make a difference against Burton if they play.

Even if what has to be a markedly improved performance gives us a stay of execution after Saturday, I cannot get beyond thinking that the fat lady will be clearing her throat as she sharpens the guillotine before our trip to Sarfend.
I just don't see what the management team has in its'locker to suddenly change our fortunes and the players seem to be already contemplating either playing in the BSP or jumping ship as quickly as possible after 5 May.

I think that's true.

The last few games I have watched have not given me a scintilla of hope that we are capable of turning it round.

In one or two we've started quite brightly, had a bit of possession, got in the oppo's half, but then we can't score, and we seem to run out of belief after 15 or 20 minutes. Our rivals sense that we pose little threat, grow in confidence, and it's usually downhill after that.

All I can do is hope that we're wrong.

COYB....

We've had our chance and blown it. Not once but failed to win any of our recent games against Plymouth, Northampton, dagenham, Hereford, Barnet, vale and Bradford.

We need a min 4 but probably 6 points in next two games and hope barnet slip up big style.

So youre better off spending time planning your route to ebbsfleet than flogging the proverbial dead horse

Totally agree, after Barnet got beat on Friday we should have gone to Bradford and won, we were playing a team with sod all to gain and we had everything to lose, Pathetic.
I cant see us winning both our games which we need to do,and im sure Barnet will pick up 3 points against Burton and probably at least a point on Saturday.
It is sad to be leaving this league in such an abject manner[V]

I'm not giving up hope completely yet even though I can't disagree with the comments on this thread. But if we have Donnelly, Tomlinson, Diagne and Draper all playing for the last two games it might make a difference. It's good to know that even if Barnet beat Wimbledon it's not all over if we manage to beat Burton Albion on Saturday. But if Barnet lose (and Hereford lose as well) then there is real hope.

Were down, end of im afraid......... like someone said weve had our chances and more than one at that, its been disgusting the way weve bowed out, a total embaresment and laughing stock to not have won even 1 game in nearly 4 months of football, fair enogh if we went down fighting but this shower is a joke, its totally disjointed from top to bottom and the only people that deserve any credit is the small number of loyal fans.

Looking forward to the bsp in a weird kind of way, to be honest i just cant wait to see what changes take place during the summer and a frest start from this turgid rubbish weve seen for the past few years....

Completely agree. The table shows we still have a chance, but I've been to most of the games this year and I've seen nothing to suggest we'll get out of the bottom two.

I like many others want this dreadful season to end, and start a fresh with a new manager next season. I'd like to think money will be made available for a play off push, but I suppose we'll have to wait and see about that.

"We were lucky"
"Burton were the better side"
"About time"
"We should have sacked Simmo earlier"
"Too little too late"
"We should have kept Simmo"
We'll never win at Southend anyway"
"Horton/any player/Rance/the owners is/are clueless"
"We would never have got in this mess with Askey/Burr/Sammy in charge."

Staying up now is a near on impossible task, yes theres a good chance we could beat Burton Saturday and if we went to the last day needing a win at Southend to satyup then yeh anything can happen in Football as we all know but despite this unlikly outcome this doesnt mask the fact that the past few years have been terrible all be it a few good results few and far between, its not been good at all and how anyone can disagree with that is beyond me, Been supportive and not neagtive i agree with yes but be honest guys n girls its not been good and like i keep saying not winning a game in 4 months of football is a complete and utter joke by anyones standards, its that bad youd think its a joke, Im stating the facts not fiction....................... Over and out but hope im proved wrong...........

That's the longest sentence I've seen in a long while without a full stop. A bit like the length of our winless run [;)]

In defence of onephilpower, there are actually 34 full stops in the message. Not in the correct places, but they're there nevertheless!
