| I personally felt Nicky’s presence became an issue with the team and the project Andy probably had in mind with Paul and got above his stations by dictating who we should and shouldn’t sign. The final nail in the duo’s credibility for me was when Nicky declared we didn’t need ‘Quality’ players to get out of League 2 yet we’re still languishing and rotting away in the same very division they came back to find us in having left the mighty Dover Athletic for home comforts in Gillingham. Being business partners probably didn’t help the cause of the football team either. I had no problem with Andy at the helm again but I hadn’t enjoyed attending games with him in charge and missed the buzz that I had about the side when Stimson was in charge, I’m not suggesting Mark was the new Laurent Blanc but he emphasised the need for a good style of play regardless of our dire situation which usually was at the bottom of the table. | |
