1) So tell us, what has been going on at Aldershot this season and
are the club meeting theirs and your own expectations so far?
are the club meeting theirs and your own expectations so far?
Well, at the start of the season all the talk from the Manager and the Boardroom suggested that the Play-Offs were a real possibility. After knocking Wolves out the Capital One Cup and an away victory at Plymouth on the opening day of the season, we Shots supporters started to believe we were going to have a good season. Unfortunately this success and optimism was very short lived and the league form has been nothing short of a disaster since with crowds now at an all time low. However, in the last couple of weeks things have improved with victories at home against Torquay and Fleetwood and creditable away draws at Cheltenham and Chesterfield.
2) Dean Holdsworth was recently sacked as Aldershot manager, how did the fans react to this, and looking back at his time at the club overall, in your opinion was he a success or failure at the Rec?
Most supporters thought it had come at a strange time. We had just managed a draw at Cheltenham and then beaten Torquay at home only to hear Dean Holdsworth had been sacked. It really came as a surprise.
Personally I'd been calling for him
to go since September/October.
You have to say in the league, Dean Holdsworth has been a complete and utter failure. However, in the cups competitions he's been a success. Last season we reached the Carling Cup 4th Round where we lost to Manchester United at home after already beaten West Ham in the 1st Round at Upton Park. This Season we made the FA Cup 4th Round where we lost to Middesbrough 2-1 and that was only to a winner they scored in the 6th minute of injury time.
3) What has been your favourite and worse moment of the season to date?
My favourite moments so far have been taking Championship side Wolves to penalties in the Capital One Cup and also the trip to Middlesbrough. Although we lost to Middlesborough, the players played with heart and passion, and every Aldershot supporter left the Riverside Stadium disappointed but very proud of the players.
The worst moment for me has to be being 3-0 up at half time down at Torquay and eventually losing 4-3!(Ed -Ouch)
4) Who are the players to watch out in the Aldershot team?
Danny Hylton. The striker's non stop movement and running creates things and he has goals in him as well. Unfortunately Danny has a petulant side that can also see him pick up silly Yellow and Red Cards.
Jamie Young has been immense between the sticks and if not for his saves we might already be looking at Blue Square Premier Football next season.
Terrell Forbes, recent acquisition after being released by Chesterfield, has only played in the last two games but looks solid at Centre Back.
Danny Rose, on loan from Fleetwood, took a while to get going but is now the focal point of our Midfield.
5) Where should the weary, thirsty and hungry Gillingham travelling supporter head for when in Aldershot?
I would recommend the Golden Lion pub. The Landlord is a Shots Legend from the 80's, Joe Jopling. If you're stood facing the ground, walk to your Right, under the Railway Bridge and it's about 5 mins walk on your left.
6) What is your score prediction for the game between Aldershot and Gillingham?
Although we need the win and if it's our day we can sneak a win, we have struggled at home and lack the firepower. I'm going for a 1-1 draw.

and finally, what are your thoughts on Gillingham FC this season and in general, and have you ever be 'lucky' enough to sample our open to the all the elements not so temporary away stand?
The Gills have been doing well under Martin Allen, who I actually like as a Manager although I know he's not everyone's cup of tea, and compared to clubs like us, your club have financial clout that we can only dream of.
I've sampled the current away end at Priestfield a couple of times, most notable being the 4-4 draw in 2009, and I've also been there a few times back in the 1980's when the away end was terracing and in the corner.
