| I wonder who the three who voted against were? I'll guess at West Ham, Leicester and the new moneybags owners of Reading. (In case they get relegated) Edited to apologise for not spotting a cunningly disguised thread on this subject. Link: It won't have been Karl !! | |

at least the oyston's robbing our club blind brigade will be happy that we are so far ahead of the game on this one ![]() ![]() west ham, leicester and birmingham for me p.s. i think that the o/p needed a more eye catching title, e.g. 'karl given thumbs up for his thieving ways'. this would have led to several people posting to support the o/p without even reading the link and probably a nailed on 50

| tbf still allows for investment and the bigger clubs who bring in more revenue through increased ticket sales/merchandise etc. can spend more whilst running a small loss with investment also its not as strict as league 1 & 2 rules, which limits the wage budget at a % of turnover (think its 75%) | |

| This hopefully will be the beginning of many measures being introduced to make sure the likes of Portsmouth for one don't outbid the prudent clubs in the transfer market and offer higher wages when they are using other's money. If this had happened sooner prest8n, Pompey, Rangers . . . (plus too many more to mention) would have been saved a lot of grief. P.S. Sirjim, the mower is still performing admirably! ![]() ![]() | |

| There is provision under the new rules for owners to make loans to the club, so it is possible that the Oystons can do this in the future. It looks like a long way back for Preston as their transfers will be restricted to a percentage of turnover, giving tickets away isn't going to help them in the transfer market. Ultimately I would think this is going to result in some reduction to players wages but most fans will still be paying inflated prices for their tickets. | |

| So using the example of qpr as per the link..... They lost 25m last season and would have been fined another 15m.......surely if a business is running at such a loss the last thing it needs is a 15m fine.....that's just going to send them to the wall....and if they did pay the fine who is the actual beneficiary of it??? I totally agree with the tightening up of how clubs are run but surely transfer bans and points deductions are just as good a deterrent?? | |

| I guess the point is, under the rules, they couldn't afford to pay the fine without further breaking the rules, so clubs would have to avoid it if they wanted promotion. | |

| using QPR as example, it would act as a deterrent because if they got promoted 15m of the 30-40m they would make would be owed to cover last seasons losses then the 4-5m losses for next seasons wage budget (more depending on promotion wage rises - assuming any players have them), would mean most of at least half of the money gained from the premiership would already be spent making it hard for them to compete and if they didn't secure promotion then next season they would have a transfer embargo | |

Pity the fair play rules don't say anything about owners trousering the financial funds given to The Football Club for The Football Club. Surely it would be in everyones interests to see The Premiership Millions (for example) ploughed back into the football world rather than a parasites pocket. Just think what a legacy The Premiership Millions could have given Blackpool Football Club ![]() Why we have a small handful of posters on here who would rather the oystons get the money really does beggar belief ![]()

| You may be mocked by a few on here common_sense but any Blackpool fan who is "realistic" would rather club owners were punished for transferring millions out of a football club than for investing millions in it. It would appear that some on here would rather Owen Oyston had the money. Anyone purchasing a golden gamble ticket or gold bond is effectively funding Owen Oystons lifestyle as he has just taken £11m out of the club. Is being convicted for rape once not enough ? | |

| About time although there are always different ways around these rules .. ie the owners sponsor the ground/club/shirts etc and use that as a way of boosting earnings and spending. | |

| Or voted for it, considering it says you are only allowed to spend 5million max one year, 4 million max the next and then only 3 million onwards. | |
