As the title says no-one comes out with any credit whatsoever from the top to the bottom everyone looks stupid and the most painful thing in my eyes is that again, although some are to blame, it will be match going fans who will suffer.
Lets take this from the top...
Stan Kroenke (owner/major Investor) - His BRAND is slipping, whilst other clubs sign multi-million pound deals with top sponsors we get a Nigerian soft drink, the reason why ? we are not winners, sponsors want to associate themselves with winners, it makes their brand look better, people want the best goods/service etc. With Stan's business plan which is to earn money on player dealings, pay the debt off quick, finish in a Champions League spot and cream off some money from Arsenal media(he personally owns 50% of that the club the other 50%) not only we will not attract top players we wont pay a fee for them or their wages. I will throw a party the day this leech sells up. No wonder RVP does not want to work for an owner who not only will not pay the going rate in wages for players but also refuses to spend the money the club earns on world class players to play along side him.
Peter Hill-Wood (Chairman/Old fool) - This man has been making foolish choices for decades now, he sold more or less all his shares for peanuts compared to there current worth, everything that comes out of this man's mouth now is a joke, it really is long past time he retired. His comments last week on RVP were at most misleading at worst pure lies.
Ivan Gazidis (CEO/Spin Doctor) - I have not warmed to this man and I never will, always the first to come out with Spin, he talks about players wages spinning out of control whilst picking up a tidy sum himself, plus a bonus, of course his bonus is related to how much he can make the club, mainly off us fans. He often holds Q&A sessions with supporters groups, but on his terms, he picks the questions he wants to answer then 9/10 times he talks round in circles and doesn't even answer the question. As a spin doctor he is one of the best in the business, as a CEO of a football club he is about as much use a fitness DVD by Diaby. He is also currently on hoilday, nice timing eh. No wonder RVP does not want to play for a CEO whose only aim is to cut costs and increase profits from fans.
Wenger (Manager/Dictator) - He should of gone 2 years ago, well past his best by date. But credit to him where it is due, he is a great company man, he sticks by Stan's business model of making money on player dealings and never complains, he more or less has the run of everything at the club, from the food in club level right down to the youth players and who they board with. He works hard and in return is paid very well, one of the highest paid managers in the world. But he has failed, he can no longer pluck out a Vieira or an Henry, he bought Park,Chamakh and has lumbered us with a lot of deadwood players we cant sell. What is also worrying is that players get to a certain standard and no longer want to play for him and he has lost more captains than Almunia has caught balls. RVP knows he cant/wont splash the cash, so rightly so he is off.
RVP (Top Scorer/Captain) - RVP was a teenage tearaway, not only did we help turn his life around, stuck by him whilst he was wrongly imprisoned, made him a multi-millionaire we also paid his wages whilst he has had long spells injured, to be fair he has had 18 months of being a world class player, but he is one injury away from retirement. I do understand his reasons behind wanting to leave but the manner of his statement and the timing stinks. He has said how much he loves the fans, yet he knew before everyone renewed their season tickets and memberships that he was off, but agreed with the club to wait till after we had all paid up to let us know. I wonder just how many people have already bought next years home shirt with RVP on the back ?
As i said at the start of this, no-one comes out of this with any credit, the owner, the CEO, the manager, the player have ALL let us down, the club currently stinks from top to bottom of greed. Winning trophies should never be anyone's reason to follow a football club, but when we left Highbury we was told it was so we could compete to sign the best players in the world and we cant even keep our best players happy. The club has changed too much, we are now run as a business first and a football club second, I have no problem with that, the club needs to earn money, but it is going about it all the wrong way and got it drastically wrong. This is yet another nail in the coffin for our once great club.
